Celebrate scallop season by giving back to the island at the annual Scallopers Ball
The Scallopers Ball is the Nantucket Shellfish Association’s marquee fundraising event held each fall. The event celebrates the start of Nantucket’s bay scallop season while raising funds to support the NSA's mission to preserve and protect the island's harbors, water quality, and shellfish ecosystems.
Held at the Nantucket Yacht Club, the Scallopers Ball features a raw bar, dinner buffet, cash bar, live music, auctions, raffles, and a fun and festive community atmosphere. This year’s event will take place on Friday, October 3, a date that marks the beginning of the recreational “family” scallop season on Nantucket.
Tickets are usually available for purchase for NSA members first and then offered to the community. The NSA takes this opportunity to remind people of its mission and ask them to join the organization. Proceeds support NSA’s core initiatives, including: youth education and scalloping programs; harbor health efforts and debris cleanup; scholarships and research grants and sustainability programs for Nantucket’s shellfish fisheries.
