Every summer Nantucket Historical Association honors the island’s rich historical and design tradition with its Nantucket by Design event. This multi-day event brings together top designers, architects, and influencers from around the country to explore design trends, highlight innovative concepts, and celebrate Nantucket’s unique heritage and aesthetic.
The 2025 event theme is Interwoven. William Raveis Nantucket has been the leading sponsor of Nantucket by Design since 2021. The proceeds from the Nantucket by Design directly support the Nantucket Historical Association. The event draws interior designers, architects, art and history lovers and creators from around the country.
Attendees to the event can expect a lineup that includes:
Designer Panels and Presentations: Engaging panel discussions with renowned designers, architects, and creative professionals who share insights on design trends, architecture, and the process of creating beautiful spaces.
Special Luncheons and Dinners: Special luncheons or dinners that bring together attendees and designers for intimate conversations on specific design topics and trends. These meals are often hosted in some of Nantucket’s most beautiful homes or historic venues.
Antiques Show Collaboration: The event often overlaps or collaborates with the Nantucket Summer Antiques Show, providing a curated space for attendees to explore timeless design elements and shop for high-quality antiques.
Gala Events: Nantucket by Design typically concludes with a gala, where guests can mingle with designers, enjoy live entertainment, cocktails, and opportunities to network with influential figures in the design world.
Showcase Tours of Historic Homes: As part of the event, there are often tours of historic homes or properties on Nantucket where designers have reimagined the spaces using more modern concepts while giving a nod to the island's heritage.
