Celebrate July 4th in style with some of Nantucket's most festive events.
Get ready to unfurl the Red, White and Blue for this summer’s Independence Day in Nantucket. On Friday, July 4, the Town of Nantucket will host patriotic activities across Main Street, Children’s Beach, and Jetties Beach.
From 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sustainable Nantucket’s Farmer’s Market will be on Cambridge Street and food trucks will be on Federal Street.
At 9 a.m. Nantucket’s Unitarian Universalist Church will host the 26th anniversary reading of the Declaration of Independence.
If a morning run is more your speed, head to Jetties Beach for the Nantucket Firecracker 5k Run or Competitive Walk. The race begins at 7 a.m.
After the early morning fun, Downtown comes alive at 10 a.m. with music from DJ Scott Capizzo.
At 10:30 a.m. the Nantucket Fire Department will face off against the Boynton Lane Reserves in a barrel filling challenge for the Annual Water Competition.
The National Anthem and other patriotic songs will be performed from 10-10:20 a.m. by P.J Moody. The Nanpuppets Puppet Show will be from 10:30-11 a.m. From 11:15-11:45 a.m. Magic Mark will perform, then P.J Moody will return from noon to 12:30 at the bandstand.
From 10:30 a.m. to noon, there will be the Matt Fee Tea Toss and cornhole tournaments on the lawn and face painting near the boat ramps and playground.
The Bike Parade around the park is set to begin at 11:55 a.m.
At 5 p.m. children’s beach games will be held.
At 9 p.m. the Town of Nantucket firework show will launch from a barge offshore. All are welcome to watch the incredible show.
